NOT ace of bass! August 23, 2008 I'm no basshead but these phones are COLD! Sticker on the box declares,"POWERFUL BASS"! My last Sennheiser were the px100 and they were much louder n' warmer BUT the cable at the end of the jack only lasted a year.If Sennheiser got a bit beefier in design they would be the best but these PX200 are miserable! I'm going for the chunky Ultrasones, expensive but sod the expense!
RUBBISH August 15, 2008 Where does one start, bassless, hollow, flat & well, rubbish really, bought these on the strength of the vast number of 5 star ratings, totally agree with the 1 & 2 star ratings, sorry to those people for not taking notice of you,to those of you remotely thinking of buying these,i urge you to think on & go for the px-100's instead, which i decided to do,honestly the px-100's will absolutely annihilate these px-200's straight out of the box,no running in required with the px-100's,beautiful bass, sweet treble & warmer sounding with no hollow flat sound or harshness ,the px-100's are simply outstanding for the price,i just hope this review helps some people to avoid a big mistake & give the cheaper px-100's a chance, they truly are far superior!
great headphones! August 13, 2008 Well, I spent quite a lot of time looking for the best headphones at a reasonable price, and these had the best reviews. They arrived yesterday, so only been wearing them for a few hours but my first impression is great. I wore them to travel to work on the bus, and i could hardly hear it at all or the noise of noisy children etc, they are very comfy and they really do keep the sound in, nobody in my office can hear them!!
Love the carry case too!
Good, But not that good ! August 7, 2008 I only bought these, as my dog ate my Koss GT 5s, which don't seem to be available any more. They're OK but not up to the GT 5 from Koss.
They're very flimsy, although the fold away feature is very good for travelling. The Bass is there but it's very unnatural, and on classics they're really lacking the qualities of the overall dynamic range. I've got to turn my Ipod up to full wick to get the best, but with the Koss, I only need half way & there's plenty in reserve.
In short, yep, they're OK, But the GT 5s were brilliant!
Mixed feelings, no longevity August 5, 2008 As some other reviewers already pointed out, the controversy about this product is weird. I am pretty sure that I haven't bought a fake - sold directly by Amazon, including the case.
After two days I had a loose connection of both cables which go into the earphones. Without tugging at the cables, wearing them only at my desk - unbelievable bad quality.
And I can't find either the bass. I've tried to 'brake them in', but no change. Highs and medium notes are fine, the dynamics could be better, especially at lower volume. No spatiality at all.
I strongly suggest to test them in a shop before.
