 Fuzz machine October 26, 2008
I am a bass player and wanted to use this headphone with my mixer, but the sound is totally artificial, a lot of low end but only fuzz, like in a "sound mist". I thought my bass preamp had a problem and was about to replace its battery but I tried to switched back to an old and cheap headphone from my computer and my bass came alive again. The cheap one sounds ten times better than the HD465. I will never buy another Senheiser product.

I got these to replace some Sennheiser eH2270 headphones I've had for about 6 years because the padding round the ears on the old phones was beginning to flake away. Comfort is my main consideration and the customer reviews said the HD 465s are really comfy. I don't agree. My ears are aching after a few hours of wearing them. I think I'm going to have to go back to my old pair which are much easier on the ears even though they're covered with bits of gaffer tape.

THE GOOD: Beautifully comfortable, you could wear these for hours. 3m lead. Truly awesome for Hip Hop and Drum & Bass thanks to the good real deep bass.
THE BAD: Their strength in the above music actually becomes a weakness in most other types of music [and vocal] where the bass developes a rather boomy quality. The biggest disappointment is at the top end where they lack any real brilliance.
THE UGLY: I'll need to buy an additional pair of headphones

Looked around on google for good professional reviews on headphones, with a budget of around 30 these seemed like a comfortable bet, and comfortable they are, the sound is also incredible, as a music tech student I prefer hearing all the frequencies of audio as clear as a cloudless day. These do that. Awesome bass too.

Purchased these because I was fed up with my substandard headphones, and without them I was annoying everyone with my subwoofer. All I can say is wow! I am very impressed with the sound, and they are much better than the last pair of phones I had in regards to build quality, sound and comfort (so all areas!) It does seem to focus a little more on the (bass, much to my satisfaction) :) but as the previous reviewer has suggested that is easily remedied. So to sum up, they are great! Buy them! I can't believe they are so cheap for what you get.
