Tight clamp - but awesome sound quality November 29, 2008 I write this review with regret. These are a great pair of headphones, build quality is top notch, the swivling right headphone is useful, the design is nice as well.
The main problem is the tight clamp, I've had these headphones for a while now, maybe a year. I have tried to stretch it (stacks books in between to stretch it) and it does work for a day - but after that it goes back to its original "tight" state. Maximum time I can wear these is an hour.
If you have a large head (I don't think I do!) then stay away, if your head is an "adequate" size (whatever that is) then these are perfect. Sound quality and bass is really nice and smooth, with a "warm" touch with the pleasing deep bass and clear mid's and high's.
Be Cautious October 27, 2008 The good news...Sennheiser build quality, decent sound for the price band, flashy bag to carry them in! The cautionary note - as more than one reviewer has noted, you definitely want to try before you buy if you have a large head or big ears! I've got both - I've owned these 'phones for a while, but hadn't used them for any extended period until a long-haul flight this month. I found they became very uncomfortable after no more than an hour or so, to the point that (whilst I'm a Sennheiser fan) I'm going to have to replace them with something else for extended use.
A very good buy if you find them comfortable, but I suspect a lot of potential buyers won't.
Great Value October 25, 2008 A robust pair of headphones with included imitation leather case. The sound quality is great with massive bass. Sound isolation is excellent. stereo image isn't as clear as HD250s' (which are also cheaper). ear-cups are small which can lead to pain after about half an hours use.
Overall excellent value for money, especially for those who want a big bass.
Good headphones, but tight fit might not suit all August 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
What can I say other than another good effort from Sennheiser. In terms of sound, i preferred them to the HD215 headphones.
The only downside is, like my HD25-1's and HD650's the clamping effect is very hard, and might not be suited to everyone. Build quality is top notch though, and you get one of those handy (not) carrying bag. Out of the sub 50 headphones I have, I've never ever had call to use one of those carrying bags, but you might find one.
Recommended: Oh, absolutely. One of the better Sennheiser's!

Too tight very flimbsy wire which tangles easily sound is good but do not stretch or flex to loosen I tried this after reading the reviews. after stretching on a small footballI put them on and the top part of the headband exploded and the tiny/clicker adjuster spring went flying I could not put back together without new screws and glue for the cushion to make at least some use of them. Even after all this the ear cushions are too small and cause ear ache after a short while causing you to constantly reposition to gain some comfort not as good as my 9.99 Philips. I would have returned them but for 17.99 I cant be doing with the hassle. Remember these were brand new out of the box and in now way did I overstretch them. I am not just a whinger please see other reviews.
